South lakecrest Primary bath
This bathroom serves as a guest bathroom and the main bathroom for two growing boys. The outdated pink wall tile and vanity made it hard for these homeowners to tie into their modern farmhouse style in the rest of their home. It is now not only a gorgeous space to share with guests, but also a functional and durable bathroom for two teenage boys to share.
A custom built double vanity made from 100+ year old barn wood sets the stage for a truly gorgeous rustic bathroom. We pushed the vanity out by 5 inches to create a built in shelf - also cladded in barn wood - behind the vanity adding both storage and dimension to the statement vanity wall.
The vanity is paired with honed granite in whites and greys. Subway tile, shiplap, wall-mounted faucets, and vintage gooseneck sconces turned the space into the modern farmhouse style, yet durable and easy to clean bathroom that the homeowners were desiring. It is a gorgeous space to be used for guests, but also functional to be used as the every day bathroom for 2 growing boys.
Modifications were made to the floorplan of this ranch's bathroom to give additional room for the tub/shower combo and added bathroom storage. Taking a small amount of space from the adjacent bedroom's second closet provided additional room for built in custom shelving.
A floor to ceiling partial wall was added to separate the vanity from the toilet to give additional privacy for the shared space and allowed the vanity/toilet wall to remain in similar locations. A new slide in tub was added to give more space in the shower and paired with subway tile that is tied to the vanity shelf and their recently renovated kitchen.
These homeowners did 100% of the work themselves! We are talking demo, plumbing, electrical, drywall, tile, and so much more! It was a long renovation road, but it turned out beautifully and added so much equity into their home!
